Palmer Hotel Taichung, Taichung

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. While the room I stayed in was rather spacious and clean, it felt a bit small and only had a narrow bed and an IKEA table. On the other hand, there was another room that was huge, offering two king-sized beds, an LCD TV, clean carpet, and a massive bathroom. The service was a highlight, with the staff always friendly, helpful, and quick to replenish our water, coffee, and towels. However, I did notice some instances of rudeness and hostility towards mainland Chinese visitors. The location was quite convenient, allowing easy access to all public transport options and being within walking distance to the Nantou Gancheng Bus Station. The proximity to popular tourist spots like Sun Moon Lake, Qingjing Farm, and Taichung city added to its appeal. The dining experience was a mix of opinions as well. While some dishes were excellent and exceeded expectations, others were frankly awful and poorly presented, especially the stone-cold options. The facilities were decent overall.
